My name is Jeff Galin and I own Electronics Service Labs.  I work with dedicated technical experts, John and Erik.

We can repair, align and restore your classic Nakamichi stereo product except for their car audio.  I know that the Cassette decks we have restored are far superior to others.  When I worked for Nakamichi as a sub-contractor servicing their repairs, I developed performance and reliability modifications, as well as service techniques, that are unique to their decks.    I received Nakamichi factory training from their Japanese technicians who had me provide training to other Nakamichi servicers including U.S. Government employees from Washington D.C.

Craftsmanship is rare these days, in any field, and we are proud to be recognized worldwide for ours.  We incorporate the latest factory up-grade modifications as well as the improvements designed by our staff of electrical and electronics engineers.  Our experts won't settle for less than their and our best.  Unlike other service centers that claim to be Nakamichi authorized, we are currently and have been since 1975, giving us priority availability to the most up-to-date service information and parts.  We maintain a large parts inventory for the future servicing of our customers' Nakamichi cassette decks.

We will inspect your cassette deck to evaluate it's needs using the Nakamichi supplied test tapes, gauges, tools, test fixtures and their manufactured test equipment in addition to other test equipment such as a full bandwidth distortion and spectrum analyzer.

Included in an overhaul restoration is a thorough cleaning, demagnetizing, relubrication and much more.  We clean and relubricate the controls, switches and plug-in contacts. The heads, axels, shafts and bronze bearings are relapped, polished, resurfaced or replaced as necessary along with other worn, defective and known to fail parts.  Only original replacement parts or an improved version are installed including washers, springs, bushings, lamps and other parts not likely stocked by anyone else.  Many of these routinely installed parts are often not listed on the service invoice. We custom design modifications for each channel's record and playback frequency response equalization circuits, as necessary, to adhere to the exact pre-emphasis and de-emphasis curves as specified by Nakamichi to obtain optimum performance.  A precision alignment and tweaking of the transport and electronics is critical so as to meet or exceed the Nakamichi factory specifications and to ensure peak performance with continued reliability.

We have faith in our craftsmanship.  Unless abused or otherwise stated on paid invoices, completely restored units include a 2 YEAR warranty on the parts installed and the work performed. Units used commercially, professionally or for other than home consumer use, have a 6 month warranty.

Servicing Nakamichi cassette decks is not just our job, it's a serious commitment to excellence. Most other servicers just do the fix and make it work the best they know how.  This will work for a while but not for long and certainly not perfectly.  Taking into consideration that the age of most classic Nakamichi cassette decks are10 to 25 years old, we would rather NOT do "band-aid" or partial service unless the customer insists. If you wish, we can do less for less but you get your money's worth for best.  The rubber parts are most likely are dried-out, worn or stretched and need to be replaced, not refurbished.  Our goal is to RESTORE each machine to "better than new working condition" and ensure renewed proper performance with continued reliability for another lifetime.

We don't profess to be the cheapest, we profess to be the best.  The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of a low price!  You won't find a customer dissatisfied or disappointed with the performance of their Nakamichi deck after our experts perform an overhaul restoration.  It's not magic, it's expertise!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Jeff Galin
